Tsurutontan is an upscale udon and nabe restaurant that fuses traditional Japanese culture with Western sensibilities. The entire restaurant will be renovated from early December, creating a sleek new space that is equally trendy and inviting. Expect warm, welcoming hues on the restaurant’s façade as well as inside, and delicate Japanese touches like a private garden reflecting the changing colors of the seasons. More than 50 kinds of udon are available here, and all are unique to Tsurutontan. For a special meal, you can sample one of their many course menus, all available with udon or nabe as the main course. The ¥4,800 course includes all-you-can-drink, and more elaborate options are available for ¥5,500, ¥8,000, and ¥10,000. For a quick bite, à la carte udon dishes are available from ¥680. The kitchen also offers a special of the day, which varies according to the season. There are 17 kinds of private rooms that seat between 2 and 48 people at the Roppongi restaurant and up to 50 people at the Shinjuku location. The second floor of the newly renovated Roppongi restaurant is home to Kinshourou, a luxurious Japanese restaurant, as well as an exclusive VIP area with a separate entrance. The VIP area, Rakuseian, is a ryotei-style establishment.
